Riverboat Chickamauga on the White River
This photo of the riverboat Chickamauga is part of the Powell-Guard Collection at Old Independence Regional Museum. The river boat was anchored on the White River above Batesville around the 1890s. In the photo you can see passengers standing and sitting on the upper deck while workmen are on the lower deck with coal and wooden barrels. The horse drawn wagon is either loading or unloading with another wagon waiting.
