An article cut from the Arkansas Gazette on July 13, 1941. Miss Betty Hail, the lovely daughter of J. Conway Hail of Batesville, has been chosen princess hostess for the White River Water Carnival to be held July 23 and 24 at Batesville. Miss Hail, who finished her freshman year at Arkansas College last winter, will attend Randolph Macon Women’s College, Lynchburg, Virginia, this fall. She is the granddaughter of Judge and Mrs. S.A Hail of Batesville and of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Potter Davis of Memphis, Tennessee.
