Stone County courthouse square in 1888
The Stone County courthouse square in 1888. A rail fence surrounds the square and the two story courthouse. Saddled horses are tied to the rails of the fence. Horse drawn wagons can be seen in the photo. In the background you can see a number of buildings which appear to be businesses. In the distance you can see the hills surrounding the town. There are no leaves on the trees which suggest the photo was taken in the winter months. This photocopy of a photograph is part of the OIRM Collection at Old Independence Regional Museum.
