Mtn. View, the first Folk Festival

Mtn. View, the first Folk Festival

This photo was taken in 1941.  Eulis and Livey Rorie are playing the guitar and fiddle in the photo.  The back of the photo says “Mtn. View, the first Folk Festival.”  Then Mtn. View has been marked through with a different color ink and Blanchard Springs is written in its place.  The modern folk festival in Mtn. View began in the early 1960s.  This photo is part of the Powell Collection at Old Independence Regional Museum.
