A newspaper article on Helen King the author of a book on rug hooking. The article is titled “Helen King’s New Book is Making History,” and was written by Edwina Cook. Helen King was a talented artist who created her own designs of hooked rugs. She was widely known and received letters from around the world. Her book was written in a different manner than the standard rug hooking books which used illustrations of the finished rugs. She didn’t use the pattern as a whole but rather concentrated on the components of the design. This document is part of the Rutherford Collection at Old Independence Regional Museum.
