Batesville Post Office ca. 1890

This photo in the Parks Collection at Old Independence Regional Museum shows the interior of the Batesville Post Office around 1890. Two male postal employees are shown in the photo. One is wearing a set of Calico Sleeves. Mail can be seen in the compartments behind the two men. Some postal box names can be read, including Hanford, Hinkle, Miniken and People’s Bank.
